What this page covers
The videos here take Deuteronomy as a whole rather than one passage at a time, so this is the ground they cover: “Forty Years, Retold at the Border”, “Hear, O Israel”, “Laws for a Land They Do Not Own Yet”, “Boundary Stones and Honest Weights”, “Life and Death, So Choose Life” and “A Song, a Blessing, and a Grave No One Finds”.
Forty Years, Retold at the Border (Deuteronomy 1–4). Moses stands east of the Jordan and tells the history back to a crowd that was made up of children when most of it happened. He does not soften it. Here is where you refused to go up, here is where I was told I would not cross, and here is the God who carried you as a man carries his son.
A Song, a Blessing, and a Grave No One Finds (Deuteronomy 31–34). Moses writes a song and teaches it to the nation so it will be remembered when he is gone, blesses the tribes one by one, then climbs Nebo and is shown the whole land he will not enter. He dies there, and no man knows his sepulchre to this day.
