Counsel, understanding, and strength belong to her. Kings and judges need her to rule fairly. She loves those who love her and can be found by earnest seekers. Wealth and honour accompany her, but her fruit is better than money. She leads along right and fair paths so that those who love her receive lasting substance. The offered gain is joined to integrity, not separated from it.
In everyday life
A district judge reads the evidence again before signing a ruling that influential people want rushed. She removes a flattering letter from the case file and bases the decision on the verified facts. Authority needs careful judgement rather than pride in its own power. The ruling can then be explained openly. Wisdom offers the source of sound rule itself, not expertise for one court.

Wisdom Precedes Hills Water and Earth
Wisdom says the Lord possessed her at the beginning, before his ancient works. She was set in place before earth existed and brought forth before the deep waters or their springs. Mountains, hills, fields, and the world's dust had not yet been made. Wisdom comes before the familiar world. She is not treated as a late human discovery. Christians differ in how they relate this poetic speaker to Christ, Jesus as the promised deliverer. The immediate claim is that wisdom belongs with the Lord before creation, not merely with experienced human advisers.
In everyday life
An architect unrolls the first design beside a completed bridge and shows a student where its key proportions were set before concrete was poured. The visible structure followed a pattern that came first. The student traces the line from drawing to span. The architect plans one bridge; Wisdom speaks of life with God before earth existed.

Wisdom Delights in the World God Makes
Wisdom was present as God prepared heaven and marked the deep with a boundary. Clouds, springs, sea limits, and earth's foundations all came into their appointed order. The sea was not free to pass the boundary given it. Wisdom describes closeness to God and daily delight before him. Her joy also reaches the inhabited earth and human beings. Creation is therefore pictured with order and gladness together. The same voice that offers practical guidance claims to have rejoiced beside the maker when the home of human life was formed.
In everyday life
A city-park designer walks the finished paths with the builder and watches the first families use them. The drainage lines and planted borders now serve the life they planned for. She takes pleasure in both the ordered work and the people enjoying it. God makes the whole earth here; the designer works with land already there.
