[Verse 1] In the third year The LORD sends Elijah to show himself to Ahab and promise rain. Obadiah, who fears the LORD, has hidden one hundred prophets from Jezebel. Elijah meets Obadiah, who fears carrying the message to Ahab. Ahab calls Elijah the troubler of Israel. [Pre-Chorus] The earth stood still beneath the weight of awe, And every creature waited on the law. [Chorus] The LORD, He Is God, let the heavens hear the sound, The proud were shaken, mercy held its ground. The faithful moved beneath the word that would not fail, And every turning age would tell the tale. [Verse 2] Two bullocks are prepared for a test of answering fire. Baal's prophets cry from morning until noon without response. Elijah mocks their god as busy, traveling, or asleep. Elijah repairs the LORD's broken altar with twelve stones. [Bridge] Water is poured over the offering three times until the trench fills. Elijah prays that Israel may know God has turned their hearts back. Fire consumes sacrifice, wood, stones, dust, and water. The people fall and confess that the LORD is God.
