[Verse 1] Scattered saints came north to Antioch, Preached the Lord beyond one race. Barnabas saw the grace among them, Brought Saul to teach within the place. One whole year they met together; A new public name was heard: Christians first in Antioch, A people shaped around the word. [Refrain] Set apart Barnabas and Saul For the work to which they go. Prayer and fasting, hands upon them; The Spirit sent them down the road. Sent out, Across the sea and through the town. Sent out, The gospel moved where idols crowned. [Verse 2] Cyprus heard; a sorcerer opposed them; A proconsul watched the truth prevail. At Antioch of Pisidia, Paul traced promise through Israel. Some received and some grew jealous; Dust was shaken from their feet. At Lystra, healing turned to worship, Then stones replaced the garlands in the street. [Bridge] Through many tribulations The kingdom must be entered. Elders rose in every church; Prayer held what had been ventured. [Final Chorus] Sent out, Then gathered home to tell How God had opened faith's great door To Gentiles where it fell. Sent out, Not wandering without aim: The church released its servants, And nations heard the name.
