A Better Covenant through His Own Blood
Hebrews · Psychedelic Pop
[Verse 1]
A lamp, a table, bread in the first room;
beyond the veil, a once-a-year approach.
Earthly hands served a copy and shadow,
waiting for the living pattern to be shown.
[Pre-Chorus]
The first could point, but could not clear the conscience.
The better ministry has come.
[Chorus]
A better covenant through his own blood,
better promises written in the heart.
I will be their God; they shall be my people;
their sins I will remember no more.
[Verse 2]
Christ entered the greater tabernacle,
pitched by the Lord and untouched by human craft.
Once into the holy place,
his own blood obtaining eternal redemption.
[Bridge]
Through the eternal Spirit he offered himself;
dead works lose their claim upon the conscience.
The Mediator redeems transgressions,
and the called receive the promised inheritance.
[Refrain]
Once offered to bear sins;
he will appear again unto salvation.
[Outro]
The shadow gives way.
The heart receives the covenant.
