Set Apart at the Door

Leviticus 8:1-36

[Verse 1] Moses gathered Israel with the garments, oil, and blood, Washed Aaron and his sons before the gathered multitude. Coat and girdle, robe and ephod, breastplate bound in place, Holy crown upon the head that bore the priestly name. [Pre-Chorus] Oil crossed the tabernacle, Then poured upon the head of Aaron. [Chorus] Set apart at the door for seven days, Ear and thumb and toe were marked along the way. Blood and oil upon the garments, bread within their hands, Priests were formed by ordered worship to minister before the LORD. [Verse 2] Hands were laid upon the bull, its blood purified the altar, One ram rose in full surrender, one became the consecration. Fat and shoulder, bread and wafer rested on the priestly palms, Then Moses waved and burned them in obedience to the charge. [Bridge] They ate beside the doorway and remained within the place, Day by day the rite continued through the full appointed space. No shortcut crossed the calling, no private path was made, Aaron and his sons completed everything the LORD conveyed. [Final Chorus] Set apart at the door for seven days, Ear and thumb and toe were marked along the way. Blood and oil upon the garments, bread within their hands, Priests were formed by ordered worship to minister before the LORD. [Outro] The doorway held their waiting, Until consecration was complete.
