[Verse 1] He sent the twelve across before Him, Then withdrew alone to pray. Night found the boat in contrary weather, Far from shore before the day. In the fourth watch through the darkness A figure crossed the restless foam. They cried out, thinking it a spirit; Courage answered through the storm.
