Rejoice in the Lord Alway
Philippians · symphonic chamber pop
[Stand Fast]
Beloved and longed for, joy and crown,
Stand fast in the Lord when divisions come down.
Euodias and Syntyche, share one mind,
And true fellow laborers help them unite.
[Chorus]
Rejoice in the Lord alway,
And again I say, rejoice.
Let moderation be known unto all,
The Lord is at hand, so steady the voice.
Rejoice in the Lord alway,
Prayer replaces the rule of anxiety.
[Verse I]
In everything ask with thanksgiving made clear,
And peace beyond knowledge will guard heart and mind.
Think on what is true, honest, just, pure,
Lovely and worthy, of excellent report.
[Contentment]
Paul learned how to suffer and how to abound,
Full and hungry on changing ground.
I can do all things through Christ who gives strength,
Not every desire, but endurance through every estate.
[Bridge]
Philippi shared when no others supplied,
A fragrant sacrifice accepted by God.
Not that the gift was the center he sought,
But fruit to their account and a need fully met.
[Final Chorus]
Rejoice in the Lord alway,
The prison cannot cancel the song.
My God shall supply every need in His riches,
Through Christ Jesus, to whom glory belongs.
[Outro]
Contentment was learned,
And generosity became worship.
