Do Not Put Your Trust in Princes
Psalms · Bible Songs, Worship & Gospel
Praise the Lord, everything in me.
As long as I have breath, I am going to sing.
Do not lean your weight on princes,
or on any human help; it cannot carry you.
The breath goes, and the body goes back to the ground;
that same day all the planning stops.
Whoever has Jacob's God for help is well off,
whose hope is set on the Lord.
He made the sky, the ground and the sea,
and He keeps faith without running out.
He gets justice for the crushed
and puts bread into hungry hands.
He lets prisoners out, opens eyes that were closed,
lifts the bent upright, and loves the just.
He keeps the stranger, the widow and the orphan,
and turns the road of the wicked back on itself.
The Lord holds His throne without end,
your God, Zion, generation after generation.
