The Book of Zephaniah: The Day Is Near

Zephaniah · 4:36

Zephaniah opens with “I Will Utterly Consume All Things” and carries its history toward “He Will Joy over Thee with Singing.” The opening is the bleakest in the prophets: I will consume man and beast, the fowls of the heaven and the fishes of the sea. The last five verses reverse everything, and are one of the few places in Scripture where God himself is described as singing.
