Dios, quien o el que fue manifestado en carne

1 Timothy 3:16. La KJV dice: “Dios fue manifestado en carne”. Testigos griegos anteriores leen un pronombre relativo, normalmente traducido “quien fue manifestado en carne”, mientras que algunos testigos occidentales leen “el que”. Las formas podían confundirse en manuscritos que abreviaban nombres sagrados.

La lectura anterior sigue refiriéndose a Cristo en el himno o confesión que continúa. La variante cambia cuán directamente esta línea llama Dios a Cristo, pero no elimina la confesión de su encarnación, vindicación, proclamación, recepción y gloria.
