[Verse 1] David assembles princes, captains, stewards, officers, and mighty men. God refused David because he was a man of war and blood. Among David's sons God selects Solomon for the throne. His kingdom will be established if he remains constant in obedience. [Pre-Chorus] The word was rare until the silence broke, Then truth stood upright in the words God spoke. [Chorus] The Pattern by the Spirit, the word came like a flame, Kings could resist but could not silence the name. The prophet stood where fear had drawn the line, And heaven answered in appointed time. [Verse 2] Seeking brings discovery, while forsaking brings rejection. Solomon is told to take heed, be strong. David gives the pattern for porch, houses, treasuries, chambers. Courses of priests and Levites and every service are included. [Bridge] The incense altar and chariot of the cherubim receive exact gold measures. David says the LORD made him understand the pattern in writing. Solomon is charged again not to fear because God will not fail or forsake him. Priests, Levites, skilled workers, princes, and the people stand ready to obey.
