The Sun of Righteousness Shall Arise

Malachi 4:1-6

[Day of Fire] A day comes burning like an oven, Pride and wickedness become the straw. Root and branch cannot outlast it; No boast can bargain with the law. [Dawn Refrain] But for those who fear the holy Name, A different morning fills the skies. Healing spreads beneath the wings of light; The Sun of righteousness shall rise. [Chorus] The Sun of righteousness shall arise, Healing carried in the dawn. Those who waited through the darkness Step like calves to freedom's song. The Sun of righteousness shall arise, Yet the great day still draws near. Mercy warms the hearts that turn; Judgment answers settled sneer. [Movement: Remember] Remember Moses and the statutes, Horeb's law for Israel's road. The final prophet points backward Before the future sign is showed. [Movement: Elijah] Elijah comes before the dreadful day, Prophetic fire without a throne. Fathers turn toward sons estranged, Children turn and come back home. [Bridge] The testament ends with an open warning, A healed relationship or stricken land. The next great word is not yet spoken; Silence waits at history's hand. [Final Chorus] The Sun of righteousness shall arise, Healing carried in the dawn. Remember law, prepare the pathway, Let divided hearts be drawn. The Sun of righteousness shall arise, While the final warning stays: Turn the hearts before the coming, Walk in reverence toward the day. [Final Coda] Moses remembered. Elijah promised. The dawn beyond the silence.
