[Verse 1 - in Bethany] In the house of Simon the leper, A woman came with an alabaster box. She brake the box of precious spikenard And poured it on his head. [Bridge - the murmuring] Why was this waste of the ointment made? It might have been sold and given to the poor. Let her alone; why trouble ye her? She hath wrought a good work on me. [Refrain - for a memorial] She hath done what she could. She is come aforehand to anoint my body for burying. Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached, This also shall be spoken for a memorial of her. [Verse 2 - the shadow at the table] One of you which eateth with me shall betray me. They became sorrowful and asked, Is it I? The Son of man goeth as it is written, But woe to that man by whom he is betrayed. [Outro - bread and cup] Jesus took bread, blessed it, and brake it: Take, eat; this is my body. He took the cup and gave thanks: This is my blood of the new testament, shed for many. [Outro] Broken and poured out. Until I drink it new in the kingdom of God.
