[Chorus] Now salvation, strength, and kingdom; the accuser is cast down. They overcame by the Lamb's blood and the word they would not silence. [Verse 1] A woman clothed with the sun, moon beneath her, twelve stars crowned, cries in travail before a red dragon, seven heads, ten horns, stars swept down. Her man child is born to rule with iron; he is caught to God and to his throne. She flees to a wilderness prepared for her. [Verse 2] War breaks open in heaven. Michael and his angels fight; the ancient serpent cannot remain. The Devil, deceiver of the whole world, is hurled with his angels to the earth. [Breakdown] They loved not their lives unto death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens. Woe to earth and sea: the dragon knows his time is short. [Verse 3] Two wings bear the woman from his face. A flood pours after her; the earth opens and swallows the river. Enraged, the dragon turns toward the remnant who keep God's commandments and hold the testimony of Jesus Christ. [Post-Chorus] No place in heaven for the accuser. No silence in the faithful mouth. [Outro] The dragon stands by the sea, but the kingdom has been proclaimed.

About the passage

Revelation 12: The dragon is defeated and turns upon the woman's children

Chapter 12 pulls the conflict behind the churches into a vast symbolic scene. A radiant woman labors in birth while a red dragon waits to devour her child. The child destined to rule the nations is caught up to God and his throne, and the woman receives a prepared wilderness place. War in heaven then ends with the dragon's expulsion. The Book of Revelation finally names him plainly as the ancient serpent, the Devil, Satan, and the deceiver of the world. Heaven interprets his fall as the defeat of the accuser, while the saints overcome through the Lamb's blood and their testimony even when that faithfulness costs their lives. Cast down and furious because his time is short, the dragon pursues the woman, fails again, and turns his war toward her remaining offspring, defined by obedience to God and testimony to Jesus.
