[Verse 1] When the kingdom is established, Rehoboam forsakes the law of the LORD. In the fifth year Shishak of Egypt attacks Jerusalem. Libyans, Sukkiim, and Ethiopians form an innumerable host. Shemaiah tells the gathered leaders that God has forsaken those who forsook him. [Pre-Chorus] The stones lay broken, every gate was burned, But prayer became the place where courage turned. His mother Naamah and his seventeen-year reign are remembered. The king does evil because he does not prepare his heart to seek God.
