Abraham's house held two different births: one through the flesh and one through the word. One mother in bondage, one woman made free; two covenants opened for hearers to see. Children of promise, like Isaac we stand, not by the strength or design of a hand. Jerusalem above is free, and she calls: we are not children of bondage at all. Sinai bears children beneath slavery's weight; the present city answers that state. But Scripture tells the barren to sing, for promise can raise what no flesh can bring. The child of the flesh may trouble the heir, but bondage and promise do not equal-share. Hear what the law says when law is desired: the free woman's children inherit by promise. Children of promise, like Isaac we stand, called by the faithfulness spoken by God. Not born into fear, not owned by the chain; children of freedom through promise remain.
