Light upon Galilee
Matthew · Chillsynth
[Intro - after the prison]
When Jesus heard that John was cast in prison,
He departed into Galilee.
[Verse 1 - the borderlands]
Leaving Nazareth, he dwelt in Capernaum,
By the sea, in the coasts of Zabulon and Nephthalim.
The people which sat in darkness saw great light;
To them in the shadow of death, light arose.
[Chorus]
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Leave the net, leave the boat, follow me.
I will make you fishers of men;
Light has risen upon Galilee.
[Verse 2 - the call]
Simon and Andrew cast a net into the sea,
And straightway left their nets behind.
James and John left the ship and their father,
And followed when the Master called.
[Bridge - through every town]
He taught in their synagogues,
Preached the gospel of the kingdom,
Healed sickness and every disease;
Great multitudes followed from every shore.
[Outro]
The people in darkness saw great light.
Light has risen upon Galilee.
