Matthew
[Verse 1] Six days after the confession, Peter, James, and John climbed high. There His face shone like the sunlight, Garments bright beyond the eye. Moses stood and spoke beside Him; Elijah joined the radiant frame. Law and prophets met in glory Around the Son they both proclaimed. [Refrain] On the holy mount, A cloud of brightness spread. On the holy mount, Fear bowed every head. Heaven named the chosen Son And charged the three to hear. On the holy mount, The kingdom's glory drew near. [Verse 2] Peter offered three tabernacles, Still not knowing what to say. The voice came out from clouded splendor; The disciples fell afraid. A touch raised them from the earth; They looked and saw the Lord alone. Silence held them down the mountain Till the Son of Man had risen. [Bridge] They asked of Elijah's coming; John had come and suffered wrong. So the Son would meet rejection Before resurrection's song. [Final Refrain] On the holy mount, The veil grew thin and bright. The three saw majesty before They watched the coming night. Law and prophets faded from view; The Son remained alone.
