The Harvest Is Plenteous

Matthew · Organic House

[Verse 1 - sheep without a shepherd] Jesus went through the cities and villages, Teaching, preaching, healing every sickness. When he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion; They fainted and scattered like sheep with no shepherd. [Chorus] The harvest truly is plenteous, But the labourers are few. Pray ye the Lord of the harvest, That he send forth labourers. [Verse 2 - the twelve] Simon Peter, Andrew, James and John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Lebbaeus, Simon, And Judas who afterward betrayed him. [Bridge - sent among wolves] Go to the lost sheep of Israel; Preach, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse lepers, raise the dead; Freely ye have received, freely give. [Breakdown - when councils rise] Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. Take no thought how or what ye shall speak; The Spirit of your Father shall speak in you. [Outro] The harvest is plenteous. Send forth labourers.
