Lyrics · Joshua
The Seventh Circuit
Joshua 5:1-6:27
[Verse 1]
Kings of Canaan lost their courage when the Jordan dried away,
Gilgal marked a new generation and the Passover was kept.
Canaan's grain replaced the manna, wilderness provision ceased,
Then Joshua saw a warrior with a drawn sword in the field.
[Pre-Chorus]
Commander of the LORD's host,
Shoes came off upon the holy ground.
[Chorus]
On the seventh circuit, let the trumpets sound,
After seven days of silence let the final shout go out.
The wall will fall before the ark and every ordered step,
But Rahab's scarlet household will be gathered from the wreck.
[Verse 2]
Armed men, seven priests, the ark, and rear guard formed the line,
Once around for six full days with no voice from the people.
On the seventh day they circled seven times beneath the horns,
Then Joshua gave the command and every throat became a storm.
[Bridge]
The wall fell flat, the city burned, devoted treasure went to God,
The spies brought Rahab's family safely from the ruined place.
A curse stood over anyone who rebuilt Jericho's foundation,
And Joshua's fame spread outward through the land.
[Final Chorus]
On the seventh circuit, let the trumpets sound,
After seven days of silence let the final shout go out.
The wall will fall before the ark and every ordered step,
But Rahab's scarlet household will be gathered from the wreck.
[Outro]
Manna ended,
And Jericho fell.
