Where the songs go in 2 Chronicles

The 18 songs here set 6 of the 6 movements in 2 Chronicles to music: “Wisdom, and a House of Gold” (2 Chronicles 1–9), “Good Kings, Bad Alliances” (2 Chronicles 10–16), “Singers Sent Out in Front of the Army” (2 Chronicles 17–20), “The Slide” (2 Chronicles 21–28), “Two Great Reforms, and the Fire” (2 Chronicles 29–32) and “The Fire, and a Decree from Persia” (2 Chronicles 33–36).

Wisdom, and a House of Gold (2 Chronicles 1–9). Solomon asks for wisdom instead of wealth and is given both.

The Slide (2 Chronicles 21–28). A king who dies unlamented, a queen who murders her way to the throne, a boy king who is faithful while his mentor lives and turns the year after the funeral, a king struck with leprosy for burning incense himself, and finally Ahaz, who shuts the temple doors and sacrifices his own children.

The Fire, and a Decree from Persia (2 Chronicles 33–36). The last kings mock the messengers until there is no remedy.
