Lyrics · Joshua
Give Me This Mountain
Joshua 13:1-19:51
[Verse 1]
Joshua had grown older, yet much land remained to share,
Lots would mark inheritance beneath Eleazar's care.
Eastern tribes already held the country past the river,
Levi had no field for portion, for the LORD remained their treasure.
[Pre-Chorus]
Then Caleb stood before him,
Eighty-five and strong as on the spying day.
[Chorus]
Give me this mountain where the Anakim remain,
The word that God spoke through Moses has not weakened with my age.
I wholly followed then, I wholly follow still,
If the LORD is with me, I will drive them from the hill.
[Verse 2]
Joshua blessed Caleb and gave Hebron for his own,
Three sons of Anak left the mountain under faith that had not cooled.
Othniel captured Debir, Achsah asked for springs,
Upper and lower waters joined the inheritance.
[Bridge]
Judah, Joseph, Benjamin and every tribe received their border,
Surveyors crossed the country while the tabernacle stood at Shiloh.
Seven lots completed what remained before the LORD,
Then Joshua received Timnath-serah after all the people.
[Final Chorus]
Give me this mountain where the Anakim remain,
The word that God spoke through Moses has not weakened with my age.
I wholly followed then, I wholly follow still,
If the LORD is with me, I will drive them from the hill.
[Outro]
The oldest warrior asked for battle,
And the land was divided.
