Where the songs go in Job

The 18 songs here set 8 of the 8 movements in Job to music: “A Wager Job Never Hears About” (Job 1–3), “The First Comforter Speaks” (Job 4–7), “The Friends Explain” (Job 8–14), “I Know That My Redeemer Liveth” (Job 15–21), “Count the Prosperous Wicked” (Job 22–27), “Where Wisdom Is Not Found” (Job 28–31), “A Younger Man Waits His Turn” (Job 32–37) and “Out of the Whirlwind” (Job 38–42).

A Wager Job Never Hears About (Job 1–3). Two conversations happen in heaven that Job is never told about, and then the messengers arrive one after another until everything is gone.

Count the Prosperous Wicked (Job 22–27). Eliphaz finally names crimes Job never committed.

Out of the Whirlwind (Job 38–42). God answers out of the storm and asks questions instead of giving reasons: where were you, can you bind the Pleiades, have you seen the doors of the sea.
