Then seven letters to seven real churches with real addresses. Each is told what he knows about them, and it is specific and uncomfortable: a church with no love left, one that is poor and rich, one that is dead, one that is lukewarm and thinks it needs nothing.

A Door Opened in Heaven
The scene moves to a throne room, with a sea of glass, four living creatures and twenty four elders who keep putting their crowns down. There is a scroll nobody can open, and John weeps, which is a strange thing to do about a document. Then the answer, which is the hinge of the whole book: the Lion of the tribe of Judah hath prevailed. And when John looks, he sees a Lamb as it had been slain.

Seven bowls are poured out and a city that thought it sat as a queen falls in one hour. The merchants of the earth stand at a distance and weep, because no one buys their cargo any more, and heaven is told to rejoice over it.

Behold, I Make All Things New
A rider on a white horse whose name is Faithful and True, a marriage supper, the last judgment with the books opened, and death itself thrown into the lake of fire. Then a city coming down out of heaven, with no temple in it because God is the temple, and no sun because he is the light. The tree of life from Genesis appears again, with leaves for the healing of the nations, and the last words of the Bible are an invitation and a prayer: come.
